A good gas flame burns blue
The colour of your flame is the quickest check on a gas appliance. Pick the one that looks like yours.
That's a healthy flame
A steady blue flame means the gas is mixing with the right amount of air and burning completely. Keep it that way with a regular service, especially on older stoves and geysers.
Gas Certificate of Compliance
A CoC is the legal proof that your gas installation is safe. Only a registered gas installer can issue one. You need one:
After any new installation
Every new gas appliance or pipe run needs a certificate before it's used.
When you change or add to one
Moving a stove, adding a geyser or extending the piping means a new certificate.
When you sell your home
The seller has to hand over a valid gas CoC, and conveyancers ask for it before transfer.
When your insurer asks
An uncertified installation can give an insurer reason to turn down a claim.
Beware of illegal installations
More and more gas is being fitted by people who see LPG as quick money. A cheap installation without a certificate can void your insurance and put your family at risk. Stay safe, stay legal: ask to see your installer's registration.

Questions we get asked
Do I need a gas Certificate of Compliance?
Yes, if you have a fixed LPG installation. You need a CoC after a new installation, after any changes to it, and when you sell the property. Only a registered gas installer can issue one, and WF Gas issues them on every installation we do.
Can you certify a gas installation someone else did?
Yes. We inspect it first. If it meets the regulations we issue the certificate. If it doesn't, we tell you exactly what needs fixing, and we can fix it for you.
Which areas do you cover?
Our head office is in Bergsig, Worcester, and most of our work is in Worcester, the Breede Valley and the Boland. We also take on jobs from Cape Town and further afield, so ask us.

Which gas geysers do you install?
We're agents for Dewhot and Kexin gas geysers, and we can supply and fit other brands too. Tell us how many bathrooms you have and we'll recommend the right size.
What if my gas flame burns yellow or orange?
A lazy yellow or orange flame usually means incomplete combustion from a blocked burner, poor ventilation or a regulator problem. Stop using the appliance and book a service. If you smell gas, close the cylinder valve, open doors and windows, and call us from outside.
